Ms.Kimberly Svec visited Primorye Association of Fishing Enterprises
President of Primorye Association of Fishing Enterprises Georgy Martynov of met USA Embassy Counselor in Russia for Agriculture, Fishing and Trade Ms. Kimberly Svec . During the meeting President of PAFE Georgy Martynov told his guests about priority trends in Russian fishing industry development and its work. He also noted that the organization has close relations with US fishermen and appreciates its American colleagues.

Primorye Association of Fishing Enterprises field meeting at Morskoye Snabzheniye fishing gear factory in Devyaty Val settlement, Primorsky region. The meeting was attended by first Vice-president of PAFE Alexander Platonov, Vice-president of PAFE Peter Churkin, Deputy Head of Primorsky Region Administration Fisheries Department Aleksander Vaskov, Factory General Director Gennady Sumakov and heads of Primorye fisheries enterprises.

This information came from TINRO-Centre specialists while public hearings on the prediction of the sea urchin total allowable catch (TAC) and TAC adjustment of comb-shaped prawn in the Primorye sub-zone for 2008.

PAFE addressed the RF President with a request to stop arbitrary rule of control agencies at the fishery
The conflict between the control agencies and fishermen that happened while the Okhotsk Sea Pollock inspection because of discrepancies in the Fishery Rules has not been exhausted yet. PAFE sent an appeal addressed to the RF President for the purpose to settle the situation; at the same time masters of the ships under arrest when fishing in the Okhotsk Sea for presumable Pollock fishing are sending cables to the Kremlin requiring to “stop the arbitrary rule of clerks who by their actions impair the state and the fishermen”.
